This $85 workshop is our second series for beginners to expand their knowledge of MIG welding. We designed this two-hour crash course to further our students' knowledge and confidence in working with this fun metal joining process. All equipment is well-maintained, state-of-the-art, and easy to operate. No need to be intimidated if you have never welded before--our staff has experience training beginning welding students of all ages, genders, and walks of life. If you sign up for this class and you have NOT taken our Intro classes, that's okay--you will need to sit through a safety instruction.
We provide safety equipment and materials for all participants. This will be an outdoor event (weather permitting). During this workshop you will get to refine your skills and expand your knowledge while welding your metals--you will get to take home your masterpiece!
MIG welding, also known as Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) is a semi-automatic or automatic process that uses a continuous wire feed as an electrode and an inert or semi-inert gas mixture to protect the weld from contamination. This is typically done for finer metals, for example, in jewelry-making, artistic welding, and many other larger projects.
We will also host an "ARC 2" workshop on this date for a pm session (1:30pm-3:30 pm), you are welcome to attend both as the safety instruction will be different. These are $85 each. Call us at 313-221-5876 or purchase a ticket here to sign up!
