Arc 2 Welding Workshop

We designed this two-hour crash course to give students the opportunity to further their learning experience with this fun metal joining process. All equipment is well-maintained, state-of-the-art, and easy to operate. No need to be intimidated if you have never welded before--our staff has experience training beginning welding students of all ages, genders, and walks of life. This $85 workshop is a continuation of our Intro to ARC workshop. If you did not make the intro class, you must attend a safety briefing.

We provide safety equipment and materials for all participants. We will explain the ARC equipment, setting up the controls and system, and the ARC welding process in more depth. Then you get to refine your skills and expand your knowledge while welding your metals--you will get to take home your masterpiece!

ARC Welding, also known as Shielded Metal Arc Welding, is a process that uses a flux-coated electrode to form the weld. As electricity passes through the electrode, the flux forms a gas, which shields the electric arc in the space between the electrode and the metal being welded, preventing contamination from atmospheric gasses in the weld. This process is fairly simple and doesn't require much in the way of specialized equipment, making it very popular. It can be used to make repairs on heavier industrial equipment.

We will also host an "MIG 2" workshop on this date for an am session (10:30am-12:30 pm), you are welcome to attend both as the safety instruction will be different. These are $85 each or $135 for both. Call us at 313-221-5876 to sign up! We also have tickets available for purchase online for your convenience.
