The Detroit Training Center’s Computer Training Courses is designed to give students the computer knowledge, critical thinking skills, and self-sufficiency required to build a career in any industry. Knowledgeable instructors will show students the ins and outs of today’s hardware and software. Strong emphasis will be placed on developing analytical skills so that students can solve today’s most frequently encountered computer problems.
Introduction To Computers
Introductory course providing students with an overview of computer and information concepts. Students will be exposed to the fundamentals and basic concepts surrounding personal computer use, troubleshooting, data processing, hardware and software, and the internet. Students will be introduced to common software including the Microsoft Office Suite, Web Browsers, and the Windows Operating System. Heavy emphasis will be placed on Search Engine research methods and troubleshooting techniques.
Introduction to Web Development
This class is intended for students who wish to pursue a career in web development. Students will utilize the PHP programming language and other web technologies including HTML, and CSS to build a dynamic website. The course will conclude with a class project.
Introduction to Internet Basics
Introductory course providing students with an overview of the internet and cloud computing. Course topics including connecting to the internet, using search engines, website navigation, ecommerce, using email, and more.
Introduction to Word Processing Spreadsheets, & Presentation Software
Introductory course on popular office suites including Microsoft Office, OpenOffice, and Google Apps. Students will learn word processing, elementary spreadsheet usage, and presentation software.
